Chasing Playback is a handy timesaving feature that lets you begin playback of your favorite TV program recorded even if the show hasn’t ended. With Chasing Playback simply begin watching your recordings anytime you want. Even better, skip unnecessary scenes so you can ‘chase’ your real-time program!

Simultaneous Record & Playback allows you to playback the content of one archived program while recording another, at the same time! This convenient feature will help you manage your recordings and playback more efficiently so you spend less time waiting and more time enjoying.

HQ+ Recording is a high quality recording standard surpassing any current recording standards available. With HQ+, higher definition and higher bit-rate data can be encoded at a rate of 15MB/second (outstripping the conventional rate of 9MB/second) in MPEG-2 format. The result is superior recording quality, even on fast-moving pictures producing minimal noise distortion.

One Touch Dubbing makes exact copies of your Handycam footage without any regeneration loss. Simply connect your Handycam to the HX710 via the i-Link port. With the automatic synchronisation, recording begins after the tape is rewound to the beginning. The tape will rewind to the starting point after the recording. Your favourite Handycam footage to DVD at the press of a button!
