Main Features
Full HD 1920 x 1080 Recording
The Everio GZ-EX510BE records HD video at 1920 x 1080 resolution, at either 50p or 50i, letting you record your adventures and memories in HD quality. You can use the camcorder's HDMI output to view your footage on a compatible HDTV with incredible detail and smooth playback of your memories.
Slow Motion
For increased dramatic effect, you can record video in slow-motion by increasing the recording speed to slow down your subject's movements extending the action. Recording at higher than normal record rates allows you to capture in the camera and play back the slow-motion video without needing to slow the footage down in post. The camera allows you to slow down the action by 5x. Slow motion video is captured by the camera at 250fps at 720 x 576 resolution, but is played back at 1920 x 1080. You can record up to 144 minutes of slow motion video at one time in the camera, which will then take 12 hours to watch.
Back-Illuminated CMOS Sensor
The camcorder features JVC's Super LoLux label, which means the 1 5/8" CMOS sensor uses back-illuminated technology for improved low light sensitivity.
FALCONBRID Image Processor
JVC's FALCONBRID image processor handles the image processing details, using the data from the CMOS sensor, and converting it into the final image. This is the same family of image processor that JVC uses in its 4K digital video camera.
JVC HD Lens
The JVC HD lens, features sharp optics and a focal length of 29.3 to 1219mm (35 mm equivalent). It also accepts 40.5mm screw-in filters, which allows you to attach UV filters to help reduce haze, or polarizers that can reduce glare and reflections and darken the sky for increased dramatic effect.
Lens Cap and Video Light
The camera features an automatic lens cap that opens when you power up the camera, so you don't have to worry about losing the cap, or forgetting to take it off and missing the first few seconds of your shot. The built in video light can be set to manual or automatic.
38x Optical Zoom & 65x Dynamic Zoom
The 38x optical zoom lens provides you great reach, so you can get a close up on your subject, without getting close to your subject. The included 65x dynamic and 200x digital zoom increase the reach of the optical zoom.
3.0" LCD Touch Panel Display (230K)
The flip out LCD screen, rotates 270 degrees, so you can clearly see what you are shooting from almost any position. With 230,000 dots of resolution providing you with a smooth clear image. The touch panel functionality allows you to make selections for focus, and tracking and object recognition from the screen.
AVCHD Progressive
The JVC Everio GZ-EX510 features AVCHD Progressive recording at 28Mb/s. This allows you to shoot and capture Full HD at 1080 50p for sharp clear images that do not suffer from interlaced artifacts.
AVCHD
The camcorder also records using the AVCHD codec capturing your footage at 50i, with four bit rate settings of 24, 17, 12, 4.8 Mb/s to choose from. This allows you to select the data rate you wish record at to strike a balance between storage space and image quality.
iFrame
The camcorder features iFrame recording of your video at 1280 x 720 at a bit rate of 34 Mb/s or 960 x 540 with bit rate of 26 Mb/s.
Memory Card Slot
